The easiest way to get a large number of players created in TeamGenius is through the Player Import feature. There are three ways to access this feature.
1. In the main dashboard, hover over the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the assessment, and select "Import Players"
2. Click on the "Add Players" Button on the assessment home screen
3. Navigate to the Assessment Home, then click on on "Player Import" in the top menu bar.
Select where you want to import from CSV, SportsEngine or TeamSnap.
Next, follow the below steps to import your players.
Importing from CSV
In the center will be a field labeled Select a CSV file. To upload your file, either click the "Select a CSV file..." button to select it from your PC, or drag and drop the file on to the "Drop file here" field. You also have the option to download a sample CSV file by clicking on "Download a sample file"
After you select your file you will see all of your player data in a grid so you know you selected the correct file. If the file looks good click on continue. NOTE you must have first name, last name to upload the file.
You will now be directed to the Field Mappings screen, where you can continue the process (see below.)
In each of the methods below you can ask TeamGenius to generate player numbers at the time of import by selecting to the top right of the table. Mapping player pools while selecting this option will automatically complete the check-in process into this assessment.
Importing from SportsEngine
To import a registration from your SportsEngine site, click the box with the SportsEngine logo
Doing so opens an authorization redirect, allowing you to sign in to your SportsEngine account (you must be a Webmaster in order to do this.) Once you have been logged in and redirected back to TeamGenius, simply click a registration in the list and select "Import This Registration." This will bring you to the field mappings page where you can continue the process.
Importing from TeamSnap
To import a registration from your TeamSnap site, click the box with the TeamSnap logo
Doing so opens an authorization redirect, allowing you to sign in to your TeamSnap account. You will have the option of a "Divisions" view, or a "Team view" in the horizontal menu bar. Find and select the group of players you would like to import.
This will bring you to the field mappings page where you can continue the process.
